Pakistan : 50,000 raids conducted in 2019 against fake and sub-standard medicines

According to the NTF (National Task Force) report, the Drap (Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan) carried out 51,194 inspections and detected 7,135 Drap Act 2012 violations between January and November 2019.
The report reveals that the following cases were registered: 587 cases of unregistered medicine sales; 1,710 cases of medicine sales without warranty/false warranty; 1,895 cases of medicine sales without a medicine sales license; 830 cases of medicine sales without a qualified person; and 390 cases of expired medicine sales.
A further 222 cases of misbranded medicine sales, 11 cases of fake medicine sales and 513 cases of unsatisfactory storage conditions were also reported.
