Pangea IX: in Indonesia, seizure of illegal and fake medicines worth around $4.2 million

During Operation Pangea IX, the Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency seized more than a thousand packets of illegal and fake medicines worth around $4.2 million. The operation was conducted in 32 provinces between May 30 and June 7. Thousands of counterfeit pills were seized in 64 factories and drug production facilities all across Indonesia. Illicit products were shipped illegally into the country and then distributed through unofficial channels. A total of 214 websites selling illegal products have been identified and will be closed.
