Description Infrared thermography is a non-destructive technique. A heat/cooling source applies a temperature variation signal to the pharmaceutical product within the blister or without. A thermal apparatus measures the invisible IR radiation emitted and converts them into visible images for analysis. The images are processed to obtain an IR spectrum. The spectrum is then compared to the IR spectrum of the authentic product. A miniature thermography system exists and can be used on the field.

Provide positive authentication;

Limitations Requires specific equipment and trained person;
Cost;
Time consuming;
