Against Counterfeit Medicines
10 avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt

In the space of a few years, the counterfeiting of pharmaceuticals has reached particularly worrying proportions. According to expert estimates, fake drug trafficking now represents about 10% of the world market and has become the most lucrative source of financing for organized crime.
In the face of this scourge which directly threatens the health of hundreds of thousands of people and is harmful to global health, the creation of a universal center specially dedicated to the fight against health product counterfeiting emerged as a necessity.
Created with this ambition in 2010, the international Institute of Research Against Counterfeit Medicine (IRACM) is today the only independent international organization that is exclusively dedicated to the fight against counterfeiting and falsification of drugs, primarily through information, prevention and training.
These actions are complementary to other enforcement measures led by specialized national and transnational organizations such as Interpol and the World Customs Organization, who are also partners of the Institute.
The IRACM is a French association governed by the 1901 Act.
- The Institute provides trainings in France and abroad, and also takes part in training and awareness campaigns implemented by other organizations. Renowned professionals for their expert skills in their specializations are invited as speakers in these trainings.
- A documentation base in permanent evolution with studies, books, brochures, newspapers and other hard-copy or digital documents on counterfeit healthcare products. The access of the documentation already on line is free.
- A research center open to all French and foreign stakeholders and organizations working in the fight against counterfeit medicines and healthcare products.
- An website comprising global news on counterfeit medicines, a themed observatory, a global overview, a database gathering all the technologies used in fighting counterfeit medicines, a virtual library, online training modules and a seizures map.
