India : Court refuses bail for fake medicines trafficker

The Rajasthan High Court rejected the bail application of an accused involved in supplying fake medicines to patients suffering from high blood pressure. The application was refused on the basis that the fake medicines could have caused patients to die. The accused’s lawyer stated that: “there is no evidence to prove that the accused is the manufacturer or seller of these medicines”.
