Haiti : Fake anti-epileptic injection identified in Haiti

antiepileptiqueThe fake phenobarbital actually contains gentamicin, an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. Its injection can cause serious kidney problems, or death in some cases. The Ministry of Public Health recently launched a health alert for another fake medicine sold under the name “Clarithromycin tablets, 500 mg”. The Association of Haitian Pharmacists (APH) has openly criticized the laxity of the authorities in response to fake medicine trafficking in Haiti.
