Congo : WHO to help the Congo provide access to safe medicines nationwide

During a meeting with Jean Baptiste Nikiema, the World Health Organization (WHO) interim representative, Boniface Okouya, the Director of Congolese Pharmacy and Medicine, discussed a number of medicine safety issues, including the fact that Congo does not have a pharmacovigilance system nor a medicines monitoring laboratory. Mr Okaya also underlined the importance of training officials. WHO has committed to supporting medicine quality control and regulation training programs.
