Angola: fake antimalarial medicine in circulation

An importer, whose name has not been revealed by the General Health Inspectorate, is thought to have been importing a fake antimalarial medicine made by a Chinese or Indian laboratory. The fake medicine, “cesartem”, was packaged in boxes identical to “coartem” (a Novartis antimalarial medicine). The authorities also uncovered falsified copies of oral suspension “armeter” 180mg and 60mg for infants (batches n° Y70424 and Y70109) and batches of acetaminophen 500mg imported by Angomédica
