Algeria: smuggled medicine racket dismantled

Police arrested two brothers involved in a smuggled medicine racket after a tip off concerning diabetes medicine trafficking which was illegally exported to Morocco. During the interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were selling the medicines to a Tlemcen pharmacy employee. The Tlemcen pharmacy was investigated and a large amount of diabetes medicines, mainly insulin and huge quantities of psychotropic medicines, was seized. Other networks including several people and one other pharmacy in Aïn Youcef, in the Remchi Daïra, have been pinpointed.
