Cyprus: falsified copy of anti-cancer treatment, Avastin, found in Cyprus

The Cypriot health minister has announced that three batches of the same product have been found on the north coast of the island. The product is commercialized as “Altuzan” and is used in Turkey. A falsified copy of Avastin was found several years ago in the US. The genuine product manufacturer, Roche laboratory, has stated that the three batches of Altuzan (100mg/ml) were screened and have been confirmed as falsified. The batches bear the following numbers: B7213B03, B7211B85 and B7211B91. Avastin is used to treat several types of cancer, including colorectal, breast and lung cancer.
