The veterinary products which were seized and incinerated in Togo are thought to be worth CFA 20m (approximately €30,000). The products were seized in Kara markets. The authorities have issued a ministerial order which bans unlicensed veterinary products from sale in markets, in an attempt to improve the fight against increasing trafficking within the region. From now on, veterinary medicines may only be sold if ministry of Agriculture approval has been granted.
