The Azerbaijani authorities uncover trafficking of counterfeit medicines

As a result of the strengthening of measures to fight against counterfeit medicines in the country, the authorities have arrested several people involved in an important illegal traffic, preventing a vast network of reselling of fake medicines in pharmacies.

Among those arrested, a pharmacist, Gerayev Tofig Aghababa, 33, was ready to sell in his drugstore products as “no-shpa”, “bromgeksin” or “seftriakson” without knowing the source. Labels, boxes and instructions were printed in the printing house of a young man aged of 29, Muzaffar Polad Tofigdans. This man tried to burn lots of evidences but labels and boxes have been found as well as many fake medicines samples.
