In Myanmar, Health enforcers busted unregistered drugs for up to 10 tons

End of January 2014 and after five months of raids, the City Health Department identified five locations – three stores and two bungalows in Bangsar and Persiaran Syed Putra – used to store aphrodisiacs pills.

The haul worth an estimated US$630,535 and included painkillers, antibiotics, antihistamines, antacids, psychotropic pills, contraceptives and motion sickness pills. They were produced in Myanmar and India.

Four Myanmar nationals operating from a shop in Lebuh Pudu were also detained in the raids.

The drugs were not registered with the Health ministry, and some even contained scheduled poisons.
